Guthrie High’s boys and girls cross country teams will be competing in Saturday’s region meet in Mustang, hoping to take the final stride toward qualifying for next week’s state championships at Edmond Santa Fe.

Story by Mike Monahan Crescent High’s Tigers remained unbeaten by celebrating Homecoming Night with a 61-7 rout of Hinton, a district victory sparked by an explosive 41-point first half. The Tigers are now 7-0 overall (3-0 in the district) with three games remaining.

The Guthrie Rotary Club Student of the Week is McKenna Tucker. She is the daughter of Tanya Tucker and David Tucker. McKenna has been involved in Bluejay softball, fast and slow pitch, basketball, Drama Club and track and field. She was recognized as All-District first team outfield and first team utility. McKenna was Newcomer of the Year and Offensive Player of the Year. Her greatest achievement was making the Championship game at State and making history!
