Guthrie senior wrestler Klaribel Kirk was named the 2024 Wrestling Homecoming Queen on Thursday in ceremonies at the dual meet against Blackwell. Kirk was escorted by Colby Wilder and Robert Brown.

The Guthrie Rotary Club Student of the Week is Eric Antonio Hernandez II. He is the son of Eric and Macey Hernandez. Eric has played trumpet in band for 7 years. He is a member of National Honor Society. Eric has made Regionals for 4 years and State this year. He has had the privilege of playing taps at the Veterans Day Ceremony and other local ceremonies. After graduation, Eric would love to attend Oklahoma City University and major in Music Performance. The Logan County Board of Commissioners Tuesday named the new board chairman and vicechairman for 2024. The Commissioners approved District 1 Commissioner Mark Sharpton as the new board chairman replacing District 3 Commissioner Monty Piearcy, and District 2 Commissioner Charlie Meadows was named board vice-chair.
