Logan County Commissioners Sign OHCE Week Proclamation

The Logan County Board of Commissioners approved a resolution and signed a proclamation at their Monday, May 1, meeting in the Courthouse Annex recognizing the Oklahoma Home and Community Education Organization for its importance in supporting families and providing science-based education and programs for persons in Logan County.

OHCE will host the GuthrieChamberofCommerce Coffee scheduled for Wednesday May 10 at 9:30 in the Educational Building on the Logan County fairgrounds in honor of OHCE Week, May 7-13.

Logan County Home and Community Education Clubs began in 1910. OHCE now has over 80 members in eight existing clubs: Grandview and Westway were founded in 1934: Abell in 1941, Cimarron Valley in 1944, Town & Country in 1965, Moonlighters in 1974, Friendship in 2013, and Hippie Homemakers in 2022.

TheLoganCountyClubs fund a $1,200 scholarship for a graduating high school senior each year, sponsor a 4-H Bake Show and Food Showdown for the five Logan County 4-H Clubs each spring, and are active participants in the Logan County Free Fair.
