Guthrie High School is gearing up to celebrate Homecoming on Friday, Sept. 18, and the entire community is invited to join in the Bluejay pride.

This year’s Homecoming theme is “Jurassic Jays,” bringing a prehistoric twist to the week’s festivities as students, alumni, families and fans come together to celebrate Guthrie High School.

Homecoming activities will begin Friday morning with an alumni pep rally at 9 a.m. A student rally will follow at 11:20 a.m., giving students a chance to fire up the Bluejay spirit before the afternoon’s festivities.

The annual Homecoming parade will begin at 3 p.m. at the Guthrie Masonic Temple. The parade will travel west down OklahomaAvenue before returning to the temple, traveling east on Harrison Avenue.

All Guthrie schools will be dismissed early at 2:30 p.m. Friday so students and families can enjoy the parade and take part in the Homecoming celebration.

The evening will continue at Jelsma Stadium, where the Guthrie Bluejays will take on Blanchard with kickoff scheduled for 7 p.m.

Before the game, the Homecoming king and queen will be crowned beginning at 6:30 p.m.

From the morning rallies to the parade and Friday night football, Homecoming is a time for Bluejays of all ages to come together and celebrate the school, its traditions and the community that supports it.

Grab your blue and show your Bluejay pride. Guthrie is ready for Homecoming!
