This is great news for the Guthrie Sports Community. A heart felt expression of gratitude to the
Guthrie City Council for their leadership and vision for our community.
The Guthrie Sports Task Force appointed by the City Council, worked diligently with a wide
array of city staff and City Engineer Bill Meyers of Myers Engineering to develop a project
scaled to a fundable size to be both affordable and competitive for this grant opportunity. The
Sports Task Force was chaired by Chris Evans, Owner-Operator at GuthrieNewsPage.com and
local sports enthusiast.
The grant process was a complete team effort, but special recognition should be given to Dan
Kassik, City of Guthrie Planning Director/ Grant Administrator who was the primary author in
drafting the final LWCF Grant Application for submission.
