The Friends of the Guthrie Public Library will host a Mini Book and Bake Sale Saturday, Sept. 19, from 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at the Guthrie Public Library, 201 N. Division St.
The sale will offer an opportunity for local readers to pick up gently used books and sweet treats while supporting the library and the Friends’ ongoing work in the community.
The event comes during a milestone year for the Friends, who are celebrating 40 years of supporting the Guthrie Public Library and promoting literacy in the community.
The Friends of the Guthrie Public Library is a volunteer organization dedicated to calling attention to the library’s services, facilities and needs. The group provides additional financial support to help enhance library resources and services and promotes literacy through activities and events designed to encourage a lifelong love of learning.
The Friends also welcome community members who would like to become involved. Memberships are available beginning at $5 per year, with additional membership levels available for families, businesses and patrons.
The Sept. 19 sale provides a chance to celebrate the Friends’ 40 years of service while finding a few new-to-you books and supporting the library along the way.
