Six turnovers were too much to overcome Friday night in Harrah, as the Crescent Tigers lost 63-13 to Gore in the third round of the Class A football playoffs.

The Tigers end their season at 10-2, while Gore (13-0) advances to the state semifinals against Hominy (13-0) this Friday night in Jenks.

Gore jumped on the Tigers early on a 71-yard pass play just 90 seconds into the game for a quick 7-0 lead.

Kade Varner hooked up with CJ Wilson with four minutes to go in the first quarter to tie it, but Gore scored twice inside of 15 seconds with a run and a Pick-6 score of a Varner pass and it was 20-7 after the first quarter.

Tanner Rice got the Tigers within 20-13 at the 10-minute mark of the second quarter on a 5-yard run.

But it was all Gore after that. The Pirates scored three times in about five minutes, including a second Pick-6 interception return, and by halftime it was 41-13.

Oddly, Crescent ran 57 plays compared to Gore’s 26, and held the ball 30 minutes compared to 18 for Gore. Crescent had 243 yards of total offense compared to Gore’s 334.

CJ Wilson and Luke Descher led the way with 49 and 42 yards rushing, respectively, out of 166 total yards on the ground. Varner was 8-for-14 for 77 yards with one touchdown and four interceptions. The Tigers also lost a fumble, while Gore had no turnovers.

Gore ran the ball 22 times for 222 yards and completed all four of their passes for another 112 yards.

Stone Fisher led Crescent’s defense with five tackles, while Descher had three tackles and a tackle for loss.
