ARCADIA – The Arcadia Farmers Market General Store will celebrate its first anniversary with discounts, free samples and a give-away.

On Sept. 10-11, customers can enjoy discounts of 10 percent off any order over $50 and 15 percent off any order over $75, according to manager Lori Seagraves.

On Sept. 11 only, vendors will be on hand with samples and the first 50 customers will receive a free Farmers Market tote bag.

The store at 210 N. Odor St. is a year-round expansion of the outdoor Arcadia Farmers Market, which just wrapped up its fourth season. Merchandise includes farm-raised beef, pork and poultry, whole milk from a family dairy, cheese, French-style yogurt, farm-fresh eggs, ready-to-bake entrees from popular local restaurants and seasonal produce.

The shelves are stocked with handcrafted pasta, gourmet coffee and tea, gluten-free bread mixes, local honey, homemade desserts and candy, health and beauty products, candles, home-canned pickles and jams and much more.

Nearly everything in the store is grown or produced in central Oklahoma, most by family-owned businesses.

“The response to the outdoor farmers market and now to the store from local vendors and our loyal customers has been humbling, gratifying and just plain fun,” said Linda Simonton, partner in the venture along with Jodee McLean.

“It’s allowed our talented growers and artisans to have a place close to home to sell their creations and help support their families’ healthy lifestyles. And our customers love being able to shop six days a week at our well-stocked store,” Simonton said.

The general store is open from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday through Friday and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday.
