For the past couple of years, Guthrie’s ‘89er Days Parade and Celebration has been without two of its most beloved traditions: The Chuck Wagon Feed, and the ‘89er Rodeo. Because of COVID quarantine issues, these two events had to be canceled, and they were greatly missed.

The 2023 ‘89er Committee has confirmed that both events will be returning to the festival this April, and tickets will be available for sale in the coming weeks.

The Chuck Wagon Feed will kick off the 2023 Celebration on Tuesday, April 18th at the Logan County Fairgrounds. Authentic chuck wagons by “Have Wagon Will Travel” will be set up outside where food will be served by pioneers and cowhands with the meat generously donated by Dunagan Farms. Dinner tables will be set up inside the building where the evening’s entertainment, live and silent auctions, sponsor recognition, and ‘89er Queen and Princess coronation will take place.

Entertainment for the evening will be the First Annual ‘89er Talent Show. The talent show is open to the public and participation is free. All ages are welcome to compete, but there are limited slots available, so performers are urged to sign up soon. Acts will be judged on talent, presentation, and audience response, and adults and children will be judged separately and awarded different prizes. Groups will be awarded one prize for the entire group. To enter, fill out the form provided at: 89erdays. com/-89er-talentshow. html, and send it to: Oklahoma89erDays@aol.com.

The Chuck Wagon Feed will take place at the Logan County Fairgrounds at 215 Fairgrounds Road in Guthrie. Doors open and silent auction begins at 4:30 p.m., dinner and entertainment begin at 5:00 p.m., and the live auction will start at 7:00 p.m. Tickets will be $10 per person, but children 5 and under are free.
