A man was shot and killed Tuesday evening at a home in rural southeast Guthrie. The Logan County Sheriff's Office responded to calls in the 3200 block of 2 Creeks Road, with the caller reporting hearing shots. The calls came in to LCSO at approximately 5:00pm.
A probable cause affidavit obtained from the Logan County Sheriff’s Office indicated that responding deputies found a man later identified as Geronimo Quilimaco, 39, dead from a gunshot wound, and that a shotgun was found near his body.
Witnesses interviewed at the scene reported that Quilimaco and Jordan Harvey, 19, were arguing shortly after Quilimaco was dropped off at the address. One witness referred to Quilimaco as Harvey’s uncle. Harvey had been staying at the residence and when Quilimaco arrived, they were “involved in a scuffle”, in which Quilimaco “slammed [Harvey] to the ground.”
At this point, Harvey ran into the residence, saying “I’m going to kill him”. At this point, Harvey ran into a bedroom and retrieved a shotgun. One witness said he attempted to stop Jordan, but that Jordan tripped him and managed to get outside. The other witness stated that Jordan told her to stay inside and stay down.
The first witness stated that he followed Harvey outside and saw him fire the shotgun and Quilimaco. The other witness heard the shot and ran outside in time to see Quilimaco fall. After this Harvey dropped the shotgun and ran away, though the witnesses were not certain which direction he went.
Deputies later located Jordan not from from the crime scene and took him into custody. He was arrested for first-degree murder at 6:29pm on Tuesday evening.
