Guthrie High’s boys basketball team took care of business Friday night, beating Western Heights 90-48 to stay one game behind Crossings Christian in the district standings and one game ahead of Carl Albert for second place. Guthrie wrestlers qualify for State Dual, sweeping 4 matches at Sapulpa

It was quite a week for the Guthrie High School wrestling team. The first hurdle was the district dual meet to see which teams qualified for the Class 5A State Dual meet Feb. 10 in Enid._ Guthrie was moved out East this season with Sapulpa, Pryor, Bishop Kelly and Edison Prep. The weather forced the_dual_meet to be held last Wednesday in Sapulpa, and Guthrie was undeterred, winning_ all four duals to earn a trip to Enid for the third time in four years.

Lady Bluejays second at Noble Tournament

Guthrie High’s Lady Bluejays basketball team lost a 28-25 heartbreaker to Newcastle on Saturday in the championship game of the three-day Noble Tournament. Now, Guthrie (4-6) will focus on a big stretch ahead, against Elgin on Tuesday, at El Reno (10-0) on Friday, and at Crossings Christian on Jan.
