With the June 13 Election approaching, County Election Board officials are reminding voters of Election Day laws. It is a crime for any person other than voters and election officials to remain within 30 feet of a ballot box while an election is in place.

This past weekend the Guthrie Noon Lions Club sponsored a free health screening program for the community. The screening included: Glaucoma testing; visual acuity; cholesterol levels; high blood pressure checks; basic lung functioning and bone density tests.

Edmond developer scraps plan for Uncommon Ground Sculpture Park

Edmond resident and developer Hal French once envisioned his interactive park, dubbed the Uncommon Ground Sculpture Park, becoming a reality. But, last week, French sent a letter to City officials that he and his foundation were ending their venture to build and donate a 62-acre sculpture park proposed for the northwest corner of East Second Street and North Coltrane Road.

Pennypacker named boys basketball coach at Guthrie High School

Nathan Pennypacker has been selected to be the new Boys Basketball Coach at Guthrie High School. He replaces Sean Morgan, who resigned following a five year run at the helm. Pennypacker comes to GHS from Mangum High School where he led the Tigers to multiple conference championships and successful playoff runs.
