The first look at the 2024 Southeastern Conference football schedule will be uncovered on 2024 SEC Football Schedule Reveal, set for 7 p.m. ET on Wednesday, Dec. 13. The two-hour special will disclose the competition dates for the 2024 season in primetime on ESPN and SEC Network, which was announced by SEC Commissioner Greg Sankey Thursday afternoon on SEC Network during SEC Now: SEC Championship Coaches Press Conferences.

With Thanksgiving behind us and the Winter Break quickly on the horizon, I wanted to take the opportunity to highlight some accomplishments of our students this fall and provide some updates for exciting future milestones.

The Job Corps has been a part of the fabric of our community since 1966. It attracts students from Oklahoma, Texas, Kansas, Arkansas and Louisiana who come here to take the next step in a unique journey of education and self improvement. The 350 students at the Job Corps this Christmas all concentrate on one of nine special Career Trades such as Culinary Arts, Health Care, Computer Technology, Carpentry and Welding.

Plenty of holiday entertainment and activities engaged crowds during the first Saturday of Victorian Walk Nights through downtown Guthrie. Although it was about 42 degrees, there was minimal wind, so it was a good night to be out checking out the decorated store windows and vendors.

All are welcome to this FREE ‘Santa Fly-In’ vent sponsored by the Guthrie-Edmond Regional Airport. This is a fun event for kids and families to learn about the airport, check out some unique aircraft, and spend some time with the man-in-red himself.

The City of Guthrie/ Guthrie Public Works Authority (GPWA) awarded Bid No. 2023-05 Lift Station No. 4 Retrofit Project to the contractor, Slattery Construction, at the regular meeting held on November 21, 2023 in the amount of $246,139.00. The project consists of retrofitting an existing sanitary sewer lift station no. 4 on the west side of Guthrie.

The City of Guthrie/ Guthrie Public Works Authority (GPWA) awarded Bid No. 2023-04 APRA Water Main Replacement project to the contractor, Southwest Water Works, LLC of Oklahoma City, at the regular meeting held on November 21, 2023 in the amount of $1,745,286.00.

The Guthrie City Council last week awarded a $49,500 bid to MK Excavation for the partial abatement of a property located at 3620 S. Division Street (Morgan’s Auto World).
