Meridian Technology Center to Host Free “Starting a Business” Class on October 20

STILLWATER, Okla. – On Thursday, October 20, Meridian Technology Center’s South Campus in Guthrie will offer Starting a Business, a free program that covers the basics of building your own business.

Brad Rickelman, Assistant Director of Meridian’s Business and Entrepreneurial Services, will facilitate the session and cover questions individuals should consider when deciding to open a business. Rickelman will focus on a variety of topics that entrepreneurs should consider, including the necessity of market research and financials, two significant areas that cause trouble for all new businesses.

The session is from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at The Peak, the business incubator at the school’s South Campus in Guthrie. The course is free and open to the public, but an RSVP is encouraged. Sign up for the session by emailing BES@meridiantech. edu.

Meridian’s Business and Entrepreneurship Services division is dedicated to empowering entrepreneurs through networking, education, consulting and business incubation services.

Team members offer programs and classes for entrepreneurs, ranging from classroom training to monthly programs to one-on-one consulting. The Business and Entrepreneurship Services division is home to two business incubators that provides office and manufacturing space for early-stage startups to help them accelerate through the most challenging phase of building a company. The Center for Business Development is located on Meridian’s Main Campus in Stillwater. The Peak is at the school’s South Campus in Guthrie.
