Families, cyclists, runners, walkers and even four-legged companions filled the streets of historic downtown Guthrie on the morning of July 4 as the community celebrated the seventh annual Freedom Ride.
Hosted by the Grand Ole Barber Shop, the annual event brought residents together to celebrate Independence Day with a patriotic ride and walk through downtown. Participants decorated bicycles, wagons and strollers in red, white and blue, while many wore festive patriotic attire and carried American flags along the route.
The family-friendly event welcomed riders of all ages, as well as runners, walkers and pets, creating a festive atmosphere as participants made their way through Guthrie’s historic district.
Following the parade, participants were greeted at the finish line with a complimentary breakfast provided by the Grand Ole Barber Shop. The celebration continued with a showing of a family-friendly movie at the Mini Melba Cinema, giving families another opportunity to enjoy the holiday together.
Now in its seventh year, the Freedom Ride has become a favorite Fourth of July tradition, bringing the community together each Independence Day to celebrate with patriotism, fellowship and hometown spirit. More photos of the Freedom Ride can be found at https://www. guthrienewsleader.net/ photos.
