Mercy Hospital Logan County is drawing national acclaim

The Chartis Center for Rural Health named the Guthrie medical center as one of the nation’s top best-practice hospitals in the country, according to the National Rural Health Association (NRHA).

Mercy Hospital Logan County was listed among the top 20 rural hospitals in terms of “quality.”

According to the NRHA, the selection process in that category came down to “a rating of hospital performance based on the percentile rank across rural-relevant process of care measures.”

Hospitals from 13 states were represented in the “quality” category. Four other Oklahoma hospitals —

Mercy Hospital Tishomingo, Mercy Hospital Kingfisher, Jefferson County Hospital and Harper County Community Hospital also were included.

No Oklahoma hospitals were named to the best practice list for “patient satisfaction”.

According to its website, Mercy Hospital Logan County has speciality clinics that provide services in cardiology, nephrology, podiatry, pulmonology and spine care/pain management. It was designated as a critical access hospital in 2001.
