Success at Trash Off 2022

Friday and Saturday, April 8 and 9, was this year’s annual Trash Off for the Guthrie community. Trash Off 2022 has brought in a host of different items to be disposed of, helping the local community and the environment to clean up and stay clean. With all of the harmful chemicals being disposed of properly, there is less of a mess to worry about cleaning up from either the ecosystem or from someone’s home. Proper disposal of dangerous and toxic chemicals help keep the Guthrie community a safe and health conscious place to live.

Here is the rundown on the quantity’s that came through the gates for the 2022 Trash Off:

Friday - 68 customers

Saturday - 167 customers

- Brush 229 Yards.

- Trash 489 Yards.

- Metal 80 Yards.

- Tires 436 total.

This year for Environmental Management Inc:

- Flammable Aerosols 10 pieces.

- Poison Aerosols 5 pieces.

- Flammable Liquids 55 Gal.

- Paint Related Material 200 pieces.

- Oxidizing solids 20 pieces.

- Pesticides liquid toxic 75 pieces.

- Pesticides solid toxic 50 pieces.

- Mercury contained in manufactured articles 2 pieces.

- Compounds cleaning liquid 100 pieces.

- Lithium battery 2 pieces

- Batteries nickel-metal hydride sealed 2 pieces.

- Non-regulated alkaline batteries 30 pieces.

- Fluorescent lamps 4ft 40 pieces.

- Fluorescent lamps 8ft 80 pieces.

- Nonhazardous used oil 110 gal.

- Universal waste compact fluorescent bulbs 10 pieces.

- Nonhazardous batteries 15 pieces.

Compared to last year’s totals for Trash Off, 2022 was a hugely successful year with;

71 more customers than 2021, 109 more yards of brush, 132 more yards of trash, 10 more yards of metal and 310 more tires than 2021. Overall, this year’s Trash Off was a huge success in obtaining and disposing of the community’s trash and hazardous waste, helping to keep Guthrie clean and healthy for its citizens and visitors.
