Logan County charities need holiday donations

Several local family service organizations are in need of gifts, such as toys, supplies and personal care items for the upcoming holidays.Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA) is looking for angel tree donors for more than 40 abused or neglected children.

Mayor Steve Gentling announced at Tuesday’s Guthrie City Council meeting that he will not seek re-election for another term.Gentling has served as mayor since 2015.“My plan is to serve Guthrie for many, many more years. It will just not be as your mayor,” he said.

SubmittedCandidate filing for the Board of Education begins Monday, December 2 for four Logan County school districts.Those who wish to file for a Board of Education office must submit a Declaration of Candidacy to the Logan County Election Board December 2, 3 or 4, between the hours of 8 a.m.

City sales tax, use tax revenue down for November

The City of Guthrie’s November sales and use tax revenue deposits are down from the same time last year.The City re c e ived $655,709.42 in sales tax revenue from September sales tax funds, which was collected by the state and deposited in November.
