Beethoven concert series set for OCU

OKLAHOMA CITY – Oklahoma City University music professor Sergio Monteiro will perform the complete cycle of Ludwig van Beethoven’s 32 piano sonatas in an eight-concert series beginning Sept. 11 and 12.

There’s still time to register for 13 Black Towns Motorcycle Tour

A parade and a car and bike show have been added to the final day of activities for the 13 Black Towns Motorcycle Tour. The tour of the 13 remaining historically Black towns in Oklahoma is set for Sept. 3-5, with launching points in Muskogee and Langston. Tour organizer Derrick Smith Jr.

Tests determine regular Liberty Lake activities may resume

The City of Guthrie Public Works department has received the latest tests back regarding the Blue Green Algae Bloom at Liberty Lake. These most recent results show toxin levels to be lower than Practical Quantity Limits (PQL), which means regular lake activities may resume.

Mercy Increases Starting Wage for All Co-workers

OKLAHOMA (Aug. 19, 2021) – Mercy will increase the starting wage for all co-workers across its multistate footprint. The $18 million additional annual commitment will raise more than 6,000 co-workers’ pay to $15 an hour and serve as the starting wage for all newly hired co-workers.

Musicians to collaborate for Elm Tree Concert

ARCADIA – Singer-songwriters Larry Spears, Dan Siebert and Joe Baxter will join forces for the Aug. 29 Elm Tree Concert at the Arcadia Round Barn. Spears, a veteran of the Woody Guthrie Festival, has been a songwriter for more than 50 years with more than 1,000 songs to his credit.
