City Council discuss Electricity, Scooters, and Solid Waste

Improvements are being made all across Guthrie. From trash waste to electricity to Lime scooters, Guthrie is growing at an exponential rate and with that growth, comes the cost. The Blowin’ Smoke BBQ bash raised a grand total of $3,067 for Hope House with this year’s event.

Mad Science

The Guthrie library continues their Ocean of Possibilities theme, with seaworthy Mad Science experiments hosted by the library’s own Ms. Kris Kutay and Dr. Maggie Molecules. The Guthrie library opens every day at 9 a.m. and is closed on Sundays.

Over 4000 attend Guthrie Renaissance Faire

Belly dancers, Pirates and Knights on horseback at the Guthrie Renaissance Faire. The Faire was held the second weekend in June, on the 10, 11, and 12. There were around 4,000 people, vendors and performers who attended.

Make Promises Happen Receives Midwest Jeepfest Donation

Guthrie’s Midwest Jeepfest this year was a success. A large number of donations from many who came to enjoy Jeepfest 2022 last month. A total of $14,081 was donated to Make Promises Happen, the focus of this year’s Jeepfest events.

Money for Water Mains’

The water mains of Guthrie are in need of assistance. Because many of the pipes and mains are over 100-years-old, cold snaps, like Oklahoma tends to get, are busting the lines.

Father’s Day takes over Central Oklahoma

The summer breezes are blowing through the streets of Guthrie, bringing summertime activities, events, and holidays. Father’s day is upon us. On June 19, it is time again to go out and celebrate dads. Events will be taking place all over Oklahoma to help honor fathers on their special day.

Summer Reading Adventures at the Guthrie Library

The Guthrie Library has exciting events going on all summer long, for ages both young and young at heart. • Family Events: •Story Time at Mineral Wells Park- June 8, 15, 22 and 29, 10:30 a.m. – 11:30 a.m. • Learn to Loom, Hat Making For SWAK- June 16 and 30, 3:30 p.m. – 5 p.m.

Guthrie YMCA Hosts Weekly Summer Camps

The pool is open, the sun is shining and summer is officially here. With the return of summer and the ending of the spring semester at school, parents are often left thinking about how to keep their kids entertained during the long summer months. Guthrie YMCA is here to help.
