Lieutenant Mark Bruning Found Dead Inside Home

Guthrie Police Lieutenant Mark Bruning was found dead inside of his home Thursday night with no signs of foul play or self-harm according to the Sheriff's Department Public Information Officer, Troy Dykes.

The Guthrie High School baseball program will have new leadership for the 2022-23 school year. Terry Bennett, Jr. will be recommended to the GPS Board of Education as the next head coach. He has served as an assistant coach in the program for the past eight years.

Guthrie Man Kills Two and Injures Others in East Glacier Park

Reports are coming in from East Glacier Park, Montana that Sunday around 9 p.m. Derick Amos Alan Madden purposely drove a vehicle into a Central New York family not far from Glacier National Park. Madden then got out of his crashed truck and started shooting at the family with a shotgun.

Mulhall-Orlando FFA and 4-H Attends “Big 3”

Oklahoma State University’s Big 3 Field Days were held this monyh from the 17th through the 19th. Big 3 is a timehonored livestock judging event held every July at the university’s campus. More than 1,200 4-H and FFA members attended this three-day event, representing four different states.

Council Amends Manual and Appoints Nominations

The Guthrie City Council and Public Works Authority (PWA) met last Tuesday to discuss items pertaining to the Personnel Policies and Procedures Manual for the city. The Council also appointed a new member to the Guthrie Public Library Board as well as the Guthrie Historic Preservation Commission.

Professional Softball League Expanding To Oklahoma City

Oklahoma City is getting a new professional sports team. The newly minted Women’s Professional Fastpitch minted a new franchise the Oklahoma City Spark, which will debut with the league in 2023. The Spark are the third franchise in the league joining the USSSA Pride and the Smash It Sports Vipers.
