The Guthrie Rotary Club Student of the Week is Connor Irwin. He is the son of Maranda and Bob Gunn and James Irwin. Connor is active with the Concert Choir, Jazz Choir, Band, Jazz Band, Pied Pipers, Victorian Singers and Theater.

Coyle sweeps Mulhall-Orlando in basketball

Coyle High’s basketball teams swept both games Friday against visiting rival Mulhall-Orlando. Both Coyle teams are 1-1 with five games scheduled this week, which began Monday night against Glencoe, Tuesday against Waukomis and the Cimarron Tournament over the weekend.

GJHS boys basketball host Del City, drop two of three games

The Guthrie Junior High School boys’ basketball team hosted Del City on December 1. The seventh graders lost 44-27 as Demetri Tuggle led the way with eight points. The eighth graders won their game 52-35 as Zechariah Robinson scored 17 points and Israel Hammons chipped in with 16 points.
