Bobby Ferguson takes 4th in OACD State Speech Contest

Bobby Ferguson is the son of Michael and Brandie Ferguson of Guthrie, Oklahoma. Bobby is an active member of the Guthrie 4H club and currently serves as the club’s President. He also currently serves as the President for the Logan County 4H Teen Leaders.

City Council names new City Manager

Eddie Faulkner has been named as Guthrie’s new City Manager in last week’s action by City Council. He replaces Leroy Alsup, who is retiring. Mayor Steve Gentling said Faulkner will begin his duties April 17, and will officially become City Manager on April 29, a day after Alsup steps down.

‘89ers Chuck Wagon Feed And Rodeo Return In 2023

For the past couple of years, Guthrie’s ‘89er Days Parade and Celebration has been without two of its most beloved traditions: The Chuck Wagon Feed, and the ‘89er Rodeo. Because of COVID quarantine issues, these two events had to be canceled, and they were greatly missed.

City Council names new City Manager

Committee Work Over for Now

The first month of every legislative session is dedicated primarily to committee work. All bills and joint resolutions must first go through the committee process before they are eligible to be heard by the full body of representatives on the House floor.
