Prom Dress Drive For Girls In Need

Helping Community Paws and Claws has created a special project to say “thank you” to the community for their support. The HCPC is collecting prom dresses for local girls in need for this year’s high school prom.

Sample Ballots Available For April 4 Election

Sample ballots are now available for the April 4 Election. Voters can download a sample ballot using the State Election Board’s OK Voter Portal at oklahoma.gov/ elections/ovp or pick up a copy at the Logan County Election Board during normal business hours.

Monday, March 20th was the official first day of Spring for 2023. Residents needing help with their Spring cleaning should be aware of Guthrie’s annual Trash Off Days on Friday and Saturday, April 14th and 15th at the Convenience Center at 1506 North Academy Road in Guthrie.

City sales tax revenue up, use tax is down slightly

The City of Guthrie sales tax revenue was up again according to numbers from January business numbers. The city received $679,918.73 in sales tax this month. This amount is 11 percent higher or $69,876.65 more as compared to the same month last year at $610,042.08.

‘89ers Events Seek Community Assistance And Participation

Guthrie’s ‘89er Days Parade and Celebration takes place April 18th - 22nd, and it is fast approaching. The ‘89er Committee and the City of Guthrie are working hard to finalize the preparations, and they are reaching out to the community for help in several areas.

Guthrie Rotary Club Student of the Week

The Guthrie Rotary Club Student of the Week is Lydia Wells. She is the daughter of Paul and Julie Wells. Lydia is the Student Body President, and active in Student Council, Mu Alpha Theta, National Honor Society and played softball for 3 years. She is a Valedictorian and attended Girls State.

Al Bostick at Owens Arts Museum: Stories In Art

Sunday, March 12th, the OwensArtsPlaceMuseum (OAPM) in Guthrie featured an art show and performance by Al Bostick. Bostick is a well-known Oklahoma City Renaissance artist. He’s a painter, a master storyteller, a griot, a dancer, a drummer, an actor, and a coach.
