It is the first holiday weekend of the summer. Happy Memorial Day!! Mail will not be delivered, and the Post Office will be closed Monday May 29. Logan County offices and maintenance yards will all be closed. City of Guthrie offices will be closed except for basic police and fire services.

City Council amends public speaking policy at meetings

The Guthrie City Council Tuesday voted in a 4-2 decision allowing Guthrie residents and business owners to be given five minutes to speak during the public comments of a Council meeting.

Wreck on Highway 33 Results in Injury

At 3:53pm on May 15, Guthrie Fire-EMS and Logan County Sheriff ’s deputies responded to a vehicle accident at the intersection of Highway 33 and Broadway, just west of Guthrie. Two vehicles, a white Buick Encore and a silver Chevy Silverado, were involved.

Veteran of the Year Recognized

U.S. Army veteran Gary Miles, of Ponca City, was recognized as the 2023 Oklahoma Veteran of the Year by the Oklahoma Veterans Council during a joint session of the House and Senate recently. The Veteran Family of the Year is Larry, Joy and Eric Van Schuyver. Larry is a U.S. Navy veteran.
