Huddled along the highway, a gold-trim building featuring smiling faces and savory aromas welcomes weary travelers day after day. This community hero also has been transforming leftovers into a lifeline for nearly a decade. Now, the real hero is getting a promotion.

Logan County 4-H Robotics Club received a Central Foundation grant to purchase iPads and update robotic sets to help teach 15 Logan County 4-H members about coding and programming. “Our EV3 Lego robotic kits only work with iPads,” said Jennifer Dejonge, Logan County 4-H Robotics Club leader.

Guthrie’s third annual Juneteenth celebration will take place at Mineral Wells Park on Saturday, featuring food trucks, DJs, vendors and a 3-point shooting contest with cash prizes. The family-oriented event will take place from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.
