Life without parole for former Guthrie Councilman

Justice descended upon the courtroom as Judge Corley handed down his sentence in the murder trial of Daniel Triplett, shortly after 9 a.m. today. Triplett, 68, showed almost no emotion as he was sentenced to life in prison without parole on June 16, for killing his employee Brent Mack in 2021.

Just after 1 p.m. Wednesday June 14, numerous emergency service vehicles responded to an injury collision. The two-car crash in front of Braum's on Highway 33 caused one car to flip on its side Wednesday afternoon.

The Guthrie Rotary Club Student of the Week is Guthrie Job Corps student, Jalana Taft. Jalana is from Lawton and has just completed her trade in Culinary Arts. She has certifications in Guest Services, First Aid, Serve Safe and Food Handlers. Jalana hopes to open her own bakery.
