Expect construction work on SH 33 corridor until 2027

Drivers might experience some discomfort during the next couple of years on State Highway 33 between Guthrie and Perkins. The two-lane highway will be expanded to four lanes between Langston and US 177 in Payne County.

From divine intervention to reading comprehension: A calling from God inspired Sherryl Green to become a teacher. Now, she’s the best in town. Raised just south of Guthrie and a product of Edmond Public Schools, she recently was named Teacher of the Year at Guthrie Public Schools.

Airport board, with Aguirre at helm, tackles contract issues

Several topics of discussion were presented last week to the Guthrie-Edmond Regional Airport Board, which elected Guthrie Vice Mayor Grant Aguirre as the Chair. As the board alternates the two-year terms of the Chair and Vice Chair, Dick Geib will continue in the Vice Chair role until next year.

The Guthrie Rotary Club Student of the Week is Micheal Fleming. Micheal is from Seminole. He is working on a welding career. After completion, he will take an advanced course and then join the Navy. His goal is to be an underwater welder in the Navy.
