Community comes together to offer free prostate cancer screenings

Prostate cancer is one of the least discussed diseases despite leading the U.S. in new cancer cases this year. September is Prostate Cancer Awareness Month, and the American Cancer Society estimates that about 288,300 new cases will be diagnosed, and 34,700 men will die from the disease in 2023.

The Guthrie Rotary Club Student of the Week is Makenna Bench. She is the daughter of Nick and Shana Bench. Makenna is the Sr. Class President. She is active with Student Council, Choir, Mu Alpha Theta, Tennis, Science Club and National Honor Society.

Guthrie Road Celebration revs up for Sept. 9

Want to show off your snazzy car, or just want to see some great rides? The Guthrie Road Celebration’s 40th annual Car, Truck & Bike Show will take place Sept. 9 at Historic Mineral Wells Park, a free event featuring cars, trucks and motorcycles from all generations.

Sample Ballots Available For September 12 Election

Sample ballots are now available for the September 12 Election. Voters can download a sample ballot using the State Election Board OK Voter Portal at oklahoma.gov/ elections/ovp or pick up a copy at the Logan County Election Board during normal business hours.
