Airport runway reopens early after $5.8M project

Runway 16/34 at the Guthrie-Edmond Regional Airport has reopened a week ahead of schedule following major taxiway improvements, restoring full operations.The runway reopened after completion of the most disruptive phase of a $5.8 million taxiway realignment project.

Crescent Speakers Shine at Cherokee, Bring Home Multiple Wins

The Crescent High School Speech Squad earned multiple regional qualifications and top team honors at the Cherokee Speech Tournament on Feb. 21 in Cherokee.Crescent took 14 students to the competition and produced several first-place finishes across individual and duet events.
Firefighter Ben Cunningham has successfully earned his paramedic license after completing an intensive yearlong program through the School of EMS at the Guthrie Fire Department. Cunningham recently passed his national paramedic exam, marking the completion of his training. The Guthrie Rotary Club Student of the Week is Owen Wilder. He is the son of Todd and Sarah Wilder. Owen is active in Bluejay football and baseball. He is a member of National Honor Society. After graduation, Owen plans to attend Rose State and play baseball and major in Education.
