The Guthrie Rotary Club Student of the Week is Lael Dreessen. He is the son of Dan and Jinna Dreessen. Lael is active with cross country, track, drama and the Pied Pipers. His one act play placed 3rd at Regionals and 4th at State and he placed 12th at Cross Country Regionals.

Gene Haas is the owner of Haas Automation, a builder of CNC machine tools.

VIENNA, AUSTRIA – A wild whirlwind of travel saw me through the core Germanic homeland in three days straight. Indeed, I barely had an opportunity to catch my breath, with Frankfurt on a Tuesday, Zurich for 6 hours on Wednesday, and Vienna on Thursday.

Sales tax election date set

The Logan County Board of Commissioners Monday set a March 5, 2024 election date where Logan County registered voters will vote on whether to continue the .75 percent county sales tax for an extended 15 years.

Lighted Christmas Parade Entries Being Accepted

Pictured left, Guthrie High School teacher and Special Olympics coach Laura Benham and athlete Erin Henke accept a $2,000 donation from the Territorial Riders on November 5. The funds were raised through a golf tournament in October and will be used to help fund shoe purchases for the athletes for their trip to Stillwater in May 2024.

Two Guthrie residents injured; Texas man killed in multi-vehicle crash

Two Guthrie residents were injured, and a Texas man was killed following a threevehicle crash on Interstate 35 Thursday morning.
The Oklahoma Highway Patrol, Edmond Police Department, Edmond Fire Department, responded to the northbound lanes of I-35 north of Covell Road around 7:45 a.m.
