Shooting at Langston University being investigated

As you may be aware, there was an isolated incident on the Langston University campus Friday November 10th involving a shot fired. The Langston University Police Department responded,_ and a person of interest was taken into custody.

Deer collision with Edmond resident results in fatality

Ronald Lazar of Edmond was driving eastbound on State Highway 51 when his 2004 Harley Davidson motorcycle collided with a deer. The accident was located one-quarter mile east of Western, northeast of Crescent in Logan County.

City Council approves task force

The Guthrie City Council Tuesday approved the creation of a 10-person community task force to provide input for Capital Improvement Projects including the Highland Park pool. The Council will select one member from each of the seven Council wards, and three will be selected by City staff.

130 years of Mt. Zion Baptist Church

What started, in 1892, as like minded individuals sharing a love for doing good, became a full-fledged church just one year later. In 1893, the first site of Mt. Zion Baptist Church was founded under the direction of Reverend A.P. Jordan, Brother George House and Sister Susanna Wiley.

Guthrie High School FFA win National Championship for Livestock Evaluation

INDIANAPOLIS- Winners of the National FFA Livestock Evaluation Career Development Event (CDE) were announced on Thursday during the second session of the 96th National FFA Convention & Expo in Indianapolis. Mrs. Tammy Miller of Joliet Junior College in Illinois served as superintendent of the event.

Honoring Korean War Veterans

On Saturday, November 4, 2023 a medal ceremony was held at the American Legion LeBron Post 58 in Guthrie. Families from all over the nation came to honor those who served or had lost a loved one during the Korean War.
