Kirk crowned 2024 Guthrie Wrestling Homecoming Queen

Guthrie senior wrestler Klaribel Kirk was named the 2024 Wrestling Homecoming Queen on Thursday in ceremonies at the dual meet against Blackwell. Kirk was escorted by Colby Wilder and Robert Brown. Khalea Kirk, the 2023 queen, was present to crown her sister.

Several earthquakes rumbled the Edmond and Lake Arcadia area Friday Jan. 12 and Saturday Jan. 13 felt in Guthrie The USGS (United States Geological Survey) reported earthquakes ranging from magnitude 2.5 to 4.4 Friday night into early Saturday.

Crabtree Hangs It Up

A mainstay of the Guthrie- Edmond Regional Airport (KGOK) is flying off into the sunset. Glenn Crabtree, owner of Crabtree Aircraft Company, will hang up his commercial headset this month after 48 years of excellent service as KGOK’s fixedbase operator (FBO) and local flight instruction firm.

Bluejays lose first game in Weatherford championship

Guthrie High’s boys basketball team lost its first game of the season in Saturday’s championship game of the Weatherford Tournament, dropping a 52-36 decision to the host team, the No. 1 Class 4A Eagles.
