The verdict came through late last night in the trial of Timothy Greene on charges of sexual battery, kidnapping, and grand larceny.

The jury took nearly four and a half hours of deliberations to reach their verdict in this week’s trial, which began this past Monday. On the first count, sexual battery, the jury found Greene guilty and recommended the maximum sentence of 10 years in prison. On the second count, kidnapping, and the third count, grand larceny, the jury returned verdicts of “not guilty” to both.

Greene stood accused of these charges stemming from an incident in May of 2021. The victim went to a bar called Major’s in Edmond where she consumed three beers and two tequila shots. Afterward, she called for a rideshare, for which Greene was the assigned driver. However, she never got home that night.

Concerned when his wife did not return home as expected, her husband used GPS tracking to locate her near Waterloo Road and Westminster, not far from their residence. When he arrived, he found her with a shirtless man outside a black Jaguar, who quickly fled when he saw the husband. The car was later revealed to belong to Timothy Greene. Thue husband again used the victim’s phone GPS location to find the car and attempted to recover his wife, but Greene again fled and threw the victim’s phone out of the car. The following day, a family in Logan County called the authorities after finding a confused and disoriented woman sleeping in their car. According to the victim’s account, she initially only remembered waking up and ringing the doorbell at a stranger’s house. She informed investigators that her underwear was found in her purse. In response to the incident, she agreed to a sexual assault examination and was taken to Stillwater Medical Center.

Formal sentencing will be held on June 2 at 9:00am.
