Summer Break is coming to an end, and the members of the Mulhall-Orlando FFA Chapter are ready to take on the new school year!
Chapter officers Callen Oldenburg, Casyn Larman, Willie Schoonover, Hanna Schmidt, Lora Golay, and Kaylee Blagden spent August 4th and 5th in Tahlequah, Oklahoma at Officer Retreat. While staying in a cabin at War Eagle Resort the group participated in team-building activities that allowed the officers to get to know each other better. Numerous events were decided on and planned for the upcoming school year such as community service projects, workshops, and safety demonstrations. Before heading home, the team took the opportunity to spend half a day floating a small stretch of the Illinois River.
Mulhall-Orlando FFA Alumni member Lane Blankenship got to celebrate a huge success at the state capital along with other FFA and 4-H members. On Thursday, August 4th Lane was invited to the Oklahoma State Capital for winning Grand Champion Bred and Owned Bull at the 2022 National Junior Shorthorn Show in Kansas City, Missouri. Congratulations Lane!
Lastly, the Mulhall-Orlando FFA Chapter plans to start the school year off with a bang! Our officers have planned a Back to School BBQ for their fellow FFA members and classmates on August 28th. Another big event to remember is the Mulhall-Orlando Local Show from August 19th-20th. Come and support local FFA and 4-H members at the livestock show during the day and enjoy carnival games and food in the evening.
