Spring is in the air, and so are religious holidays to cherish with loved ones.
Several family events are slated during the week of Good Friday (April 15) and Easter Sunday, including church services throughout Guthrie and Easter egg hunts for all ages.
Some of the fun events include:
Wednesday (April 13): For those with older kids, the Tween Easter Egg Hunt will be held at the Guthrie Public Library at 4 p.m. for ages 9-12.
Saturday: The Guthrie Kiwanis Club will be hosting its Easter egg hunt at Highland Park, located at 929 East Park Place, at 9 a.m.
Saturday: New Hope United Methodist Church will host its Community Easter Egg Hunt at 10:30 a.m. with an assortment of events and activities, including free face painting, inflatables and snow cones. An Easter bunny will be hopping around for photo opportunities, and the egg hunt will be for children up through fifth grade.
Saturday: The Guthrie VFW will host its Easter egg hunt from noon-2 p.m. at 5223 South Division Street.
Saturday: An Easter egg hunt and cookout will be held from noon-2 p.m. at Banner School Park. This event is being hosted by Guthrie Free Methodist Church, West Guthrie United Methodist Church and Guthrie First United Methodist Church and takes place under the park’s large pavilion on West Warner Avenue. The youngest children will go first in the egg hunt. Hot dogs, chips and drinks will be provided.
Most businesses should be open on Good Friday, such as post offices and banks, but make sure the restaurant, office or business you are heading to has regular hours. As a reminder city offices will be closed on Good Friday but Emergency Services will be open and available.
Easter weekend should be a fun and exciting time to spend with family in the Guthrie community.
