Autoquip Facility Blocked in by Trains

Trains are continuously stopped on the tracks at the Autoquip facility west of the railroad tracks that run across Industrial Road.

This obstruction blocks truck, employee and emergency vehicle access from Division in Guthrie.

Chris Kuehni, who has worked at Autoquip for 23 years, is the current facility president and has 125 employees at the Guthrie location. Kuehni brings his concerns forward to the Board of Commissioners due to constant struggles his employees have with either getting stuck before arriving to work or when they are leaving work.

Emergency vehicles are also unable to cross the train tracks to get to and from the facility, which causes major safety issues for not only the Autoquip workers, but also the emergency service employees as well.

According to Kuehni there are two different entrances leading to the Autoquip facility on Industrial Road, but as Commissioner Marven Goodman states the west entrance is dangerous during the rainy season because of flooding in Cottonwood Creek at the bridge.

“If you’re looking for a sure way out that isn’t it,” Goodman said.

Kuehni has agreed to accompany Goodman to the Corporation Commission in order to solve the current issue. No action was taken by the Board of Commissioners on this item.
