Crescent junior Luke Watkins turned a strong opening day into a state championship performance Tuesday, securing the Class 2A individual golf title with a 219 overall score.

Guthrie doubles team takes aim at state tennis title

Jaxon Mayer and Carson Olmstead are poised to make some noise at this year’s state tennis tournament. Guthrie High’s No. 1 doubles team placed fifth in 2025, and Coach Mary Hudson expects bigger and better things the second time around.

Cashion hits it big in regional sweep, advances to state again

CASHION — Blake Mounce’s baseball team has struggled in recent years with consistent play during the regular season. Fortunately for the defending Class 2A1 state champs, it’s a habit that doesn’t appear to carry over into the postseason.

Girls Qualify for State, Boys Win Conference Ahead of Hosting Regionals

A strong regional showing sent Guthrie players on to state competition, while the boys team also secured a Southwest Conference championship and prepares to host regionals next week. On the girls side, Hollie Mitchell and Haven Hudson placed third at No. 1 doubles at regionals.

OKC Bombing Anniversary Observed

TheOklahomaHouse of Representatives on Monday, April 20, observed the 31st anniversary of the Oklahoma City bombing. What is known as the deadliest act of domestic terrorism ever to occur in our nation, took place April 19, 1995, killing 168 people, including 19 children.

Guthrie, Cashion take a swing at baseball regionals

Guthrie Terry Bennett’s baseball team is looking to extend its season as the Class 5A regionals get under way. The Blue Jays open against Altus on Thursday at Newcastle hoping to advance against the winner between Newcastle and Southwest.
