Deadline Week; Oklahoma Youth Expo

It was a short week at the Capitol, but last week, the House completed its third reading deadline on Thursday, March 14. We passed 422 bills and joint resolutions off the House floor before the deadline, just a fraction of the thousands of measures filed this year.

House Passes Bill to Halt Trafficking of Chemical Abortion Pills

OKLAHOMA CITY – Rep. Denise Crosswhite Hader, R-Piedmont, passed legislation in the House that would penalize with a felony anyone who distributes or possesses with the intent to distribute abortion-inducing drugs when the intent is to cause an abortion for another person.

Speaker McCall Tax Bills Pass House

OKLAHOMA CITY – Speaker Charles McCall, R-Atoka, this week gained House passage of multiple bills he authored regarding Oklahoma's tax structure and policy. The bills were in addition to tax policy legislation passed by the House earlier this session.

Appropriations committee passes bill to increase law enforcement

A measure to improve public safety in small Oklahoma towns passed unanimously out of the Senate Appropriations Committee Wednesday. Sen. Grant Green, RWellston, authored Senate Bill 1095 to allow retired law enforcement members to be employed full-time in small towns.
