The Guthrie High School Girls’ golf team hosted a tournament on March 25 at Aqua Canyon golf course with 17 schools sending teams.
Carl Albert would win the big school tournament with a score of 389. Guthrie would finish third with a score of 400. Oklahoma Christian School (OCS) won the small school division with a score of 347. Crescent finished fourth in the small school division with a score of 438.
Lucy Darr of Stillwater won the medalist honors with a score of 82. Guthrie’s Rylin Wells finished in third place with a score of 91.
Guthrie’s other scores included Emily Beeby with a 98, Sue Marie Meshew with a 100 and Liberty Crick with a score of 111.
In the small school division, Brooklyn Benn (OCS) edged out Crescent’s Ryleigh Stevens and Alex Peters (OCS) 79-80 for medalist honors.
Crescent’s Chloe Defueutes shot a 110, Mackenzie Dreyer shot a 117 and Kaylin Scott had a 131 to close out the team scoring for the Lady Tigers. Kyleigh Scott shot a 133 but it did not count in the team score.
Cashion was represented by Reece Patterson (119) and Ellea Smith (139) but did not have enough for a team score.
The Guthrie girls were scheduled to be in action on March 29 in Ardmore and then travel to Kingfisher on April 7. The Crescent girls were scheduled to travel to Hennessey on March 30 and then back in Guthrie on April 6 as the team will have a meet with Oklahoma Christian Academy at Cimarron National Golf Course. The Tigers golf team will also have a match with OCA the same day.
