Guthrie’s Kiwanis Club is hosting their annual Christmas auction on Saturday, December 7, with proceeds used to support Logan County children in need.
The all-day auction, from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m., will be in the fellowship hall at First United Presbyterian Church on 102 East Noble Avenue.
“Helping the children of Guthrie, Oklahoma” is the motto of the Kiwanis Club here in town, according to their website. Since 1971, Guthrie Kiwanis has been working to improve the lives of children and community members. Their Coats for Kids initiative is in progress, like usual around this time of year. It offers children and counselors the opportunity to pick out new, warm winter clothes like hats, coats, gloves, scarves and shoes.
Kiwanis Club also supports the Key Club at Guthrie High School and Builder’s Club at Guthrie Junior High School.

Typical Kiwanis Club meetings are held at 5:15 p.m. on the second and fourth Tuesdays of every month at the Pizza Hut off Noble, at 218 Heather Road. Prospective members are welcome to their meetings as well.
