Three Arrested for Elder Abuse

Charges were recently filed against three former employees of Golden Age Nursing Facility in Guthrie, alleging very serious and disturbing charges of elder abuse and conspiracy.

The three defendants, Aubrey M. Granata, 21, Jade M. Williams, 21, and Mckenzie M. Bolfa, 20, were arraigned in Logan County District Court on June 24, 2024. Judge Louis Duel set bond for all three defendants at $50,000.

Guthrie Police began an investigation into the three women in April 2024, following allegations received from a former employee of Golden Age regarding the women’s behavior toward residents. Through a search warrant, GPD were able to turn up disturbing images and messages, sent via text and through Snapchat. The evidence obtained from the defendants’ cell phones included images of partially or fully-naked residents; of one resident in only a shirt and adult diaper and covered in feces; of the defendants manipulating the pubic hair of residents; and mocking images of deceased residents with filters from Snapchat.

Tandie Hastings, director for Golden Age, provided the following statement regarding the charges: “Golden Age Nursing Home endeavors to ensure the safety and well-being of its residents. Upon receiving information related to certain allegations against its employees, the facility began working with local law enforcement and other appropriate authorities to respond. The employees involved had cleared background checks, were educated related to resident’s rights/safety and have been terminated from employment. We are committed to protecting the privacy and safety of the residents and families involved and will continue to keep them updated with any developments related to this matter.”

As of this writing, Williams is still in Logan County Jail awaiting bond. Defendants Bolfa and Williams will be back in court on July 18; Granata’s next appearance is scheduled for August 8.
