Nearly Double Early Voter Turnout in Logan County

The final polls closed last night for the 2024 election (see results online at www.guthrienewsleader. net that were not available at the time of printing), but Logan County saw record turnout for early voting.

Congratulations to the 4-H Speech and Job Readiness members who gave their speeches and were interviewed on Tuesday, October 29, 2024 at Orlando High School, Orlando, OK. The contests are designed to develop self-confidence and skills to build their futures.

Midwest LiftFest lifts up local charities

Midwest LiftFest 2024 was a fantastic success, raising $24,743 for the Guthrie VFW Sooner Post 4578 & Auxiliary and Helping Community Paws and Claws Inc. This event brought the community together to honor veterans and support animals in need.

Associated Press Has Called Race, Donald J. Trump Elected President.

The Associated Press has declared the 2024 United States Presidential Race a win for Donald J. Trump. As of 6:00 a.m. Trump has secured 277 electoral votes versus the 224 secured by Kamala Harris. 

Trump Wins Oklahoma

Results for the 2024 election are tallied and polls are closed with 100% of Oklahoma area precincts reported.

Guthrie Rotary Student of the Week

The Guthrie Rotary Club Students of the Week are Ronni Adams and Ava Hebensperger. Ronni is the daughter of Willie and Sherri Adams. Ronni is active in FFA and NHS. She is a two year FFA Chapter officer.

Car Show benefits Christmas with Cops

The Guthrie Police Department will be hosting a car show on Saturday, Nov.9 from 9 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. at Mineral Wells Park located at 819 South Division Street.Registration is from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. with a $20 entrance fee. Judging begins at noon and trophies will be awarded at 2:30 p.m.
