Santa Fly-In

The Guthrie-Edmond Regional Airport hosted a memorable Santa Fly-In Saturday featuring Mr. and Mrs. Claus. Vice-Mayor and Airport Board Chairman Grant Aguirre flew in the special guests. Thanks were extended to Apex Aero Center and Rick’s Fine Chocolates &, Coffees for their support.

Wreaths Across America

A Wreaths Across America ceremony was held Saturday morning at Summit View Cemetery to honor and remember veterans’ service and sacrifice. Following the ceremony, 1,600 wreaths were placed on veterans’ graves.

One person was taken to a hospital Thursday after an incident led to a shooting between roommates at a south Logan County homeThe sheriff’s office responded around 1:30 p.m. after receiving a report of a shooting in the 900 block of Shelly Lane, which is near Bryant and Waterloo.

Guthrie Rotary Club Student of the Week

The Guthrie Rotary Club Student of the Week is Bryson Hall. He is the son of Derek and Nicole Hall. Bryson wrestles and plays golf for the Bluejays. He has been a 4 time State placer in wrestling and is taking concurrent college classes.

Former GPS employee sentenced for embezzlement

A Logan County judge last week accepted a blind plea and sentenced Linda Sue Campbell, a former Guthrie Schools employee to five years of probation, with the condition that she serve 15 weekends in the Logan County Jail.

On December 7, GJCC BCL and eleven students assisted Brandy Parks of Sooner Success with Respite Care & Sib shops. Lady Bug Lane Sponsored the Sib Shops, Guthrie Police Department’s therapy dog, Mercy, with Patricia Mutters, visited the event along with Santa.
