Bikers band together to rev up support for Guthrie High musicians

Between May and September, Guthrie residents might notice a few more motorcycles in the area than usual.It’s all due to a fundraising event known as “Bike Night at The Rock,” put together by Ryan Tennill, in an effort to raise money for the Guthrie Band Boosters to help the high school program.

At 42 years old, 2nd Lt. Bennie Brown, Jr., 120th Engineer Battalion personnel officer, has had an accomplished military career spanning 24 years. He has held four different military occupations, deployed to Afghanistan and became one of the top National Guard recruiters for minorities in Oklahoma.

The Guthrie Rotary Club Student of the Week is Mary Vaughan. She is the daughter of Scott and Diane Vaughan. Mary is active in the GHS musicals, track, National Honor Society, Student Council, Pied Pipers, Girls State, Meridian Technology, volleyball, FFA and an Office aid.
