Fire Heavily Damages Guthrie Home; Family Escapes Safely

A home in the 500 block of North Ash Street was heavily damaged by fire Sunday night, according to Guthrie Fire Chief Dane Lausen.The fire broke out around 8 p.m., and the family living in the home was able to escape safely. No injuries were reported.

Oklahoma Territorial Museum and Carnegie Library Offering Free Admission to Select Groups

The Oklahoma Territorial Museum and Carnegie Library has joined the Museums for All program. The museum will offer FREE admission to Electronic Benefits Transfer (EBT), Oklahoma Tribal EBT, WIC, Oklahoma Fosters or Big Brothers Big Sisters of Oklahoma card or ID holders for up to six people.

Guthrie Rotary Student of the Week

The Guthrie Rotary Club Students of the Week are Britt Drake ( right) and Riley Wilkerson. Britt is the son of Clay and Tara Drake. He is active in Bluejays golf and FFA. Britt has been a 4-time State Qualifier in golf and has won many awards at the State level for FFA.

Stamp Out Hunger in to be held Sat., May 10

Letter carriers across Oklahoma will collect food donations along their routes Saturday, May 10 as part of the National Association of Letter Carriers’ Stamp Out Hunger Food Drive, presented by the American Fidelity Foundation and OG&E.
