Guthrie Athletes Sparkle at Special Olympics Summer Games

It started with a rally and a motorcycle escort and ended with all 48 athletes from Guthrie taking home medals from the Special Olympics Summer Games in Stillwater.The Games drew more than 5,000 athletes to Oklahoma State University for three days of competition beginning May 14.

Guthrie’s Ward 1 seat will continue to remain unoccupied after City Council deadlocked twice Tuesday on appointing someone to that post and the Guthrie Public Works Authority (GPWA) Trustee position.No decision was made on how to fill the vacant seat moving forward.

The House this week passed the general appropriations bill for Fiscal Year 2026 as well as more than 50 bills that set spending limits for various agencies and the programs they administer. The Senate did the same. The governor still will need to sign these measures before they become law.The $ 12.
