Guthrie board approves 2026-27 academic school calendar

Guthrie’s Board of Education on Monday approved the academic calendar for the 2026-2027 school year.The first day of school is set for Thursday, Aug. 14, 2026, and the last school day will be May 21, 2027. Thanksgiving break will be Nov. 24-28, and winter break is Dec. 22, 2026-Jan.

Beacon Drive-In Theatre Sold, Ending a Guthrie Tradition

The end of an era has come for the Beacon Drive-In Theatre in Guthrie, which has been sold, and will be replaced by Communication Federal Credit Union. CFCU is set to build a new bank at the longtime location at 2404 South Division Street.
