Snow Day Success: First Snow of 2026 Brings Inches, Not Ice

Winter showed up in full force across Logan County, blanketing some areas with as much as 9 inches of snow. Fortunately, the storm delivered the fun without the frustration, as there were no reports of power outages and the expected ice and sleet never materialized.

The City of Guthrie has released its first-ever annual report, offering residents a snapshot of city operations, departmental accomplishments and major projects completed during 2025, while outlining priorities for the year ahead.

18 Complete Logan County Reserve Peace Officer Academy

The Logan County Basic Reserve Academy Class 25-7-1 graduated during a ceremony Jan. 17 at Meridian Technology Center’s Guthrie campus.All 18 students successfully completed the Reserve Peace Officer Academy and are now reserve certified.

Dry Conditions Raise Fire Danger Across Oklahoma, Guthrie Crews on Alert

The Oklahoma Department of Emergency Management reported that near-critical and elevated fire weather conditions affected much of the state, with the highest risk in western and northwestern Oklahoma.
