Guthrie Sergeant Signs Off After 2 Decades of Service

What sounded like a routine 10-7 over police scanners carried far more meaning this time. It marked the final sign-off of the officer on the other end of the radio at 4:59 p.m. on Jan. 30, 2026.After 21 years with the Guthrie Police Department, Sgt. Michael LaNoy officially retired.

Cold Morning, Sweet Start: Girl Scout Cookie Season Launches in Guthrie

“My favorite cookie is Thin Mints,” said Kadynce Martin of Troop 846. “They taste amazing, and you should buy some.”On Saturday morning, Jan. 31, with temperatures in the low 20s, 94 Girl Scouts from Logan and Kingfisher counties gathered in Guthrie to kick off the 2026 Girl Scout cookie season.

Central Oklahoma Home Builders Foundation 2026 House of Hope Raises Record Funds for Local Charities

The 2026 House of Hope, built by Patrick Vorderlandwehr Homes, became one of the highest-fundraising projects in Central Oklahoma Home Builders Foundation history. The home raised support for five charities, with each organization receiving $30,000 from the sale.
